Fun fact: he is the second one in his family to win the Nobel Prize. He accomplished a seemingly impossible task: sequencing the genome of Neanderthals, an extinct relative of human.

He also discovered a new hominin: the Denisovans. Hominin refers to the group of modern humans, extinct human species, and immediate human ancestors.

An image listing the ways you can help save endangered species. First, recycle, reduce, and reuse to minimize waste and pollution and reduce plastic products. Second, learn about invasive species by verifying the species you are buying, cleaning your boat and boots thoroughly, and not releasing unknown insects, aquarium fish, and plants. Third, protect wildlife habitats by supporting wildlife parks, avoiding toxic herbicides and pesticides, and planting native flora. Fourth, say no to the black market by avoiding products made from endangered animals.
