Hi, I’m Ziyan, a third year PhD candidate in the department of Laboratory Medicine and Pathobiology. My research focuses on lung gene therapy using CRISPR/Cas9 gene editing techniques.
When I was in fourth year undergrad, I took a course about signal transduction pathways. I first looked at the past tests and found that most of the questions were “please draw the signal transduction pathway of …”. I immediately enrolled when I saw the word “draw”. For me, art is not just a hobby, it’s a very useful tool for learning and communicating. SCC is a great place for me to learn something different every week and communicate with people through art.
In my free time, I like reading manga, watching movies, and entertaining my cat!
