Hi everyone! I’m Raisa, and I’m currently completing my final year of undergraduate studies at the University of Toronto, where I’m pursuing a specialist in Health and Disease and a double minor in Immunology and Physiology! My research interests lie in the interplay between neuroscience and immunology – I find the role of the immune system (and more specifically, the gut microbiome) in psychiatric disorders especially fascinating!
Science communication and advocating for STEM education has always been a passion of mine, and the SCC seemed like the perfect medium for both of my interests to come together. During my time here, I hope to be able to further contribute to SCC’s overall mission and continue demystifying science. 🙂
In my free time I enjoy reading books (although, I buy more books than I end up reading), watching anime, taking long walks outside, and cooking new dishes with my friends!
