Hello! My name is Andreea and I am a 4th year PhD student at the Institute of Medical Science. My research focuses on how different areas in the brain control breathing and how opioids affect these regions to cause respiratory side-effects.

With the SCC, I’ve had the chance to merge my interests in both science and art to create illustrations that visually communicate complex scientific ideas. I am looking forward to another year of collaboration with many talented members on new projects and initiatives aimed at making science more engaging and accessible!
